All-new Picanto Test Drive in Spain, Barcelona

Let me first introduce myself, I am Jungwook Wi from Kia’s Overseas Communication Team, involved in international Public Relations. Today, I would like to share with you my trip to Spain, Barcelona, where journalists from Central & South America tested our all-new Picanto

We began the official test drive event with the press conference where journalists were presented with Kia’s corporate overview and all-new Picanto product information. Also we held a 30-munite Q&A session with our marketing and product managers, where the journalists questioned about the advanced features of the newest model, such as Hill-start Assist Control(HAC), safety features, etc.

 

 

Then we held a full day of the all-new Picanto test drive, which was divided into 2 parts (morning & afternoon session). The journalists were busy not only test driving the different versions of the model, but also taking photos, filming interviews, etc.

 

 

 

 

Most of the journalists were impressed by the overall performance of the model, along with its outstanding design. Actually a few journalists mentioned about the attractiveness of the model to dramatically growing female consumers in Central & South American region, with spacious interior space and much improved design.

 

 

 

 

 

 

As happy as I was with the journalist’s positive impression of the model, I also enjoyed time with very friendly journalists and operation staff, along with beautiful scenery of the venue. It was obvious to see that everyone including myself had a great time in Spain, and we promised to meet again in the short future for another special event.

How all-new Picanto can protect our customers?

Hi guys, today we want to share about the cutting-edge technology used in the safety features of the stylish and unique all-new Picanto. To make all-new Picanto safer, the high-tensile material has been applied to strengthen the center pillars. The addition of VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) for compact cars has made the all-new Picanto more intelligent, in terms of safety.

 

 

All-new Picanto comes with improved side-impact protection, thanks to a higher percentage of ultra high-tensile steel (980Mpa) with ring-shaped reinforcing loops within the B- and C-pillars. The body shell is also lighter, leading to improved fuel efficiency.

 

 

The high-tensile steel (400MPa) has been used for the previous model’s center pillar due to the technical limitations when forming the materials needed. However, for the new Picanto, ultra high-tensile steel that was cold press-formed has been used to maintain the previous model’s structure but strengthen the vehicle by two times what it used to be. This reduces the weight and strengthening the vehicle. It will achieve an overall level 1 of the Korean New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP) with its improved protection.

I am sure that there were times when too much snow or rainy weather discouraged you from driving. So, I am glad to tell you that the all-new Picanto comes with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), which ensures that the vehicle drives safely on wet and slippery roads.

 

 

The VSM is a safety feature that is activated on uneven surfaces when the car stops, by maintaining the stability of the vehicle and reducing the braking distance.

VSM works by taking into consideration the readings from the vehicle’s yaw rate, gravity sensor, wheel speed sensor and steering wheel angle sensor. By accurately assessing the car’s driving condition and the driver’s steering wheel condition, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Motor Driven Power Steering Wheel (MDPS) come into action when needed, preventing the car from slipping and ensuring safe driving.

Especially when the driver puts on the brakes suddenly or accelerates quickly on uneven surfaces of icy and asphalt roads, VSM provides assistance to the driver for safe driving. The small but a vital safety feature, VSM makes safe driving possible, on dependable all-new Picanto.

kamis sore hingga malam hari, 07 juli 2011, sejumlah anggota pica menghadiri acara peluncuran secara resmi kia all new picanto, yang diadakan oleh pt kia mobil indonesia, bertempat di piazza, gandaria city, jakarta selatan.

acara dimeriahkan dengan penampilan sejumlah band seperti phantom band, felix band dan dipuncaki dengan penampilan dari ‘ran’, penampilan dance dan pertunjukan lighting pada saat pembukaan selubung penutup all new kia picanto, dipandu oleh mc putri dan mc ben kasyafani.

selain itu, bersamaan dengan acara peluncuran resmi tersebut, di sebelah lokasi acara juga diadakan eksibisi poster hasil rancangan para peserta yang mengikuti lomba desain poster untuk all new picanto, dan para pemenang lomba desain poster tersebut diumumkan pada kesempatan itu juga.

penasaran dengan bagaimana fitur dan penampilan all new picanto tersebut, di pertengahan – akhir acara, sama halnya dengan para pengunjung lain yang hadir, kawan-kawan anggota pica ikut mengamati lebih detil kendaraan tersebut langsung di atas panggung.

salah satu anggota pica yaitu bpk erlangga berhasil mendapatkan hadiah dari panitia karena dapat menjawab pertanyaan pada saat diadakan selingan di tengah-tengah jalannya acara.

demikian info kegiatan pica tersebut, mudah-mudahan ditambah foto-foto terlampir bisa sedikit memberikan gambaran jalannya acara tersebut.

Bosmobil.com – Tepat pada hari Kamis tanggal 7 Juli 2011, PT. KIA Mobil Indonesia (PT. KMI) mengadakan acara launching pada model kendaraan terbarunya yaitu All New KIA Picanto. Mobil city car ini di-launching di Gandaria City.

All New KIA Picanto yang merupakan generasi kedua ini berhasil menyedot perhatian tamu undangan maupun pengunjung Gandaria City. Hadir juga beberapa orang penting KIA Indonesia khususnya Edi Santoso selaku Managing Director PT. KMI memberikan kata sambutan pada saat acara berlangsung. “Sejak tahun 2004 KIA Picanto menjadi mobil city car yang digemari dan mampu terjual sampai 1,1 juta unit dengan sekitar 15 ribuan unit sudah terjual di Indonesia.” bilang Edi Susanto.

All New KIA Picanto sangat berbeda dari KIA Picanto sebelumnya yang bisa dilihat dari eksterior dengan desain terbarunya. Desain lampu depan dan bemper membuat All New KIA Picanto terlihat sangar namun sporty yang dipadu dengan garis bodi pada bagian samping. Sedangkan bagian belakang juga didesain baru pada lampu belakang dan bempernya yang membuatnya semakin sexy. Pada bagian roda juga memakai velg model terbaru berdiameter 14 inchi.

Pada mesinnya, All New KIA Picanto mengalami kenaikan kapasitas mesin menjadi 1.248 cc dengan memakai teknologi baru yaitu mesin Kappa 4 silinder dual CVVT DOHC. Dengan konfigurasi tersebut, mampu mengeluarkan tenaga hingga 87 PS. Meskipun angka semburan tenaga terbilang besar, namun tetap diklaim irit yang mampu mengkonsumsi bensin 1 liter dengan jarak 15 km untuk dalam kota, dan 23 km untuk luar kota. Konsumsi bensin yang irit ini didukung oleh hadirnya fitur ECO Mode pada All New KIA Picanto.

All New KIA Picanto menyediakan 9 warna yang menarik diantaranya Signal Red, Clear White, Galaxy Black, Bright Silver, Titanium Silver, Lemon Grass, Honey Bee, Cafe Mocha dan juga Milky Beige. PT. KMI melepas All New KIA Picanto ke konsumen dengan harga 125 juta rupiah untuk transmisi manual, dan 139 juta rupiah untuk transmisi automatic dimana kedua harga tersebut adalah on the road. Target All New KIA Picanto sama seperti sebelumnya yaitu untuk anak muda. “Harga yang kompetitif akan membuat All New KIA Picanto diterima di masyarakat dengan baik.” sahut Edi menambahkan. Selain itu, KIA juga member garansi 5 tahun atau jarak tempuh 150.000 km.
