menjelang akhir bulan oktober 2012, tepatnya hari sabtu dan minggu, tanggal 20 s.d. 21 oktober 2012, pt. kia mobil indonesia melangsungkan kegiatan kia on tour 2012 di living world alam sutera, yang bertujuan memberikan kesempatan test drive kendaraan kia bagi para pengunjung mal tersebut.
dan tidak ketinggalan sejumlah anggota pride rio community ( priority ) turut memanfaatkan kesempatan yang diberikan pada kegiatan tersebut, dengan menghadiri dan ikut merasakan pengalaman mengendarai sejumlah model baru kendaraan kia yang dipasarkan di indonesia.

di sore hari sabtu tersebut, secara bergantian para anggota priority menjajal performa mobil test drive yang disediakan oleh penyelenggara, utamanya pada model kia all new rio yang merupakan model teranyar dari tipe kia pride rio.
rute test drive yang dilalui adalah melintasi jalan raya yang mengelilingi sejumlah kompleks perumahan yang berada di sekitar mal tersebut, cukup lumayan, setidaknya bisa merasakan dan mencoba sejumlah fitur yang ada di model baru tersebut.

Kia Motors Extends Major Sponsorship of Australian Open

Kia Motors announced at its Australian Open 2013 vehicle handover ceremony that it will extend its agreement as the major sponsor of the Australian Open for an additional five years through to 2018. The new deal cements Kia as the longest running major sponsor of the event, with 17 continuous years of commitment to the first tennis Grand Slam® tournament of the year.

The sponsorship rights of the renewed agreement will remain largely the same, with a host of new marketing programs to be introduced by Kia at the Australian Open over the next five years. Kia will continue to supply more than 100 official tournament vehicles each year for the safe transportation of players, officials and visitors. In addition, branded and integrated on- and offline experiences, such as the interactive Grand Slam Oval fan area at Melbourne Park, the live site at Fed Square in Melbourne, ‘Kia Fan of the Day’ and ‘Kia Fan of the Tournament’ contests will continue to boost fan engagement and excitement.


The five-year extension was announced at Melbourne Park by executive management of both Kia Motors Australia and Tennis Australia at the official vehicle hand-over ceremony for Australian Open 2013. An official signing ceremony will follow on 25 January.

Grand Slam Oval is an interactive fan area adjacent to the tournament stadiums and will host the Kia marquee and promotional events to expand the Kia brand experience for all patrons. Throughout the tournament, Kia vehicles will be displayed aroundMelbournePark, and Kia experience kiosks will host a range of fun activities for fans.

‘Kia Fan of the Day’ and ‘Fan of the Tournament’ are contests in which photos of creatively dressed fans are posted on australianopen.com and winners are chosen through online voting. The ’Kia Lucky DrivetoAustralia’, where customers can win an all expenses paid trip to the Australian Open, will also continue.

Kia will also continue to actively share the Australian Open experience with millions of subscribers, followers and fans across online and social communication channels. Kia’s official Facebook page is currently hosting an ‘Ask the Tennis Stars’ event that relays fan questions to players via a display screen during ‘Open Drive’ interviewsconducted in Kia vehicles.

The Australian Open was Kia Motors’ first ever major international sports sponsorship.  Since 2002, the company has deepened its relationship with tennis by adopting tennis stars such as Andre Agassi, previously, and Rafael Nadal, currently, as global brand ambassadors. The company has also built closer ties with a range of sports, including major global and local sponsorships in football and extreme sports.

2012 was certainly an eventful year for Kia Motors. From various new vehicle launches, awards to motor shows, it was a wild ride and we enjoyed every moment of it.

Today on BUZZ, we’d like to recap some of these momentous milestones and share with you what got us moving in the year 2012. Let’s take a look.

2012 Highlights and Milestones

1)      All-new Kia cee’d premiers at Geneva Motor Show

All-new Kia cee’d made its global premiere at the 2012 Geneva International Motor Show. More sophisticated, more efficient, more refined and with a more engaging driving experience than its predecessor, new cee’d launched to build on the success of the original model, further establishing Kia as one of the leading automotive brands in Europe.

2)      Kia Picanto and Rio win red dot ‘Product Design’ awards

Kia has been awarded two top honors for its Picanto and Rio models in the 2012 red dot design competition. The five-door versions of Kia’s striking A-segment Picanto and B-segment Rio were both winners in red dot’s internationally-acclaimed ‘Product Design’ category, in a competition that saw more than 4,500 products entered by 1,800 manufacturers from 58 countries across a variety of product sectors.

3)      All-new elegant and luxury flagship sedan Kia Quoris (K9) is launched

Kia’s striking, rear-wheel drive, all-new flagship sedan Kia Quoris made its grand debut in May. The new luxury model (known as ‘K9′ in the domestic market) went on sale in Korea in early May, and features a host of high-tech comfort and safety features, many of them never seen before on a Kia.


4)      Construction begins for third China plant with a 300,000-unit annual capacity

Kia Motors and its Chinese subsidiary, Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motor Co., Ltd., held the groundbreaking ceremony for its third plant in the Yancheng Economic Development Zone (Jiangsu Province) in June, officially signaling the start of construction of the automaker’s newest state-of-the art manufacturing facility. The plant, which will boast an annual capacity of 300,000 vehicles when completed in the first half of 2014, is an aggressive move by Kia to further strengthen its presence in China, which has become the world’s largest automotive market. Combined with the current annual capacity from its two existing plants in the Yancheng Economic Development Zone, which have annual capacities of 130,000 and 300,000 units, Kia will be able to produce a total of 730,000 vehicles locally in China.

5)      Kia launches USD $13 Million ‘Green Light Project’ to improve social mobility of needy children

Kia Motors launched Green Light Project, a global social mobility program that seek to improve the accessibility of health and education for disadvantaged youth in ailing regions back in August. The project’s official launch ceremony took place earlier this month at the future site of the Maendeleo Secondary School situated in the Madale area of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (East Africa). Kia plans to expand the Green Light Project to other countries and regions through the cooperation of its global network, and its next project will take place in the southeast African nation of Malawi.

6)      World premiere of all-new Kia Carens compact MPV at Paris Motor Show

The all-new Kia Carens made its grand world debut at the Paris Motor Show 2012 in September. It is a completely fresh model from the ground up, and its sleek and sculpted design marks a dramatic shift away from the more utilitarian look of its predecessor. It builds on the functionality and versatility of the original Carens, with a spacious five or five-plus-two seating layout, a generously proportioned luggage bay and numerous stowage spaces, but wraps this family-friendly adaptability in more purposeful sheet metal.

7)      New Kia cee’d acclaimed for exterior and interior design at Automotive Brand Contest 2012

The new Kia cee’d – launched in June 2012 – triumphed in the exterior category and also received an honorary special mention for exceptional innovation in the interior category. The cee’d is Kia’s best-selling model in Europe, and features styling typically found on a sporty coupe, but offers the space and functionality of a five-door hatch.


8)      Kia Motors enters the ranks of InterBrand’s ‘Top 100 Best Global Brands’

Kia Motors made the exclusive list of the ‘Top 100 Best Global Brands’ according to the 2012 study released by Interbrand, the world’s largest brand consultancy agency. Kia’s remarkable increase in brand value is now estimated at $4.1 billion USD, which firmly sets the automaker at 87th place on the ‘Top 100 Best Global Brands’ list. In the list there are 12 automotive brands chosen. While the average automotive brand value growth rate is 11%, Kia made a whopping 50% increase since last year’s estimated brand value.

9)      All-new third-generation Kia Cerato (Forte) premiers at Los Angeles Motor Show

The silk covers were pulled off and the all-new Kia Forte (Cerato) was revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. It sits on an all-new chassis and is longer, wider and lower than the previous generation Forte, with more room, more performance and more premium amenities. It will be offered in LX and EX variants with a choice of an efficient 1.8-liter engine or a more powerful 2.0 liter engine. It also offers luxurious features like a ventilated driver’s seat and UVO eServices, setting a new standard for the compact segment.

Kecil dan lincah, sifat itulah yang membuat Kia Picanto digemari bukan saja di Indonesia tapi beberapa negara lain. Dan ternyata pabrikan Korea Selatan (Korsel) itu telah memiliki Kia Picanto Model Year 2013. Apa saja perubahannya?

Muncul dengan nama 2013 Kia Picanto, pada beberapa negara, city car Kia ini masih menggunakan desain yang sama dengan Kia All New Picanto. Hanya saja sekarang ada front grille berbahan plastik hitam glossy serta new design foglamp. Dibagian belakang tail lamp sudah menganut teknologi LED. Ada juga pilihan warna baru, Pink, untuk menyasar konsumen wanita.
Pada sektor kabin ada pula perubahan minim yakni glove box yang sekarang dilengkapi iluminasi, dan juga stir yang berfinishing black glossy.

Under the hood, 2013 Kia Picanto masih menggunakan mesin 3 silinder 1.0-liter bertenaga 80 bhp. Tapi kini Kia menggunakan CVT gearbox baru. Ada pula yang bermesin 1.2-liter dengan teknologi gearbox yang serupa. Konsumsi bahan bakar diklaim mencapai 20,8 km/liter. Start/Stop system pun tersedia sebagai fitur optional mobil yang juga punya nama lain Kia Morning tersebut.

KIA Picanto Generasi Kedua

Jakarta – Pabrikan KIA mengaku belum menyiapkan mobil khusus untuk mengantisipasi lahirnya kebijakan mobil murah yang ramah lingkungan (Low Cost and Green Car/LCGC). Meski begitu KIA menuturkan mobil perkotaan mereka yakni Picanto sebenarnya sudah masuk persyaratan.

Seperti diberitakan sebelumnya, agar sebuah mobil mendapatkan kategori LCGC, mobil tersebut memiliki konsumsi BBM minimal 1:20 dengan mesin sekitar 1.000 cc.

“Kalau dibilang mobil yang irit, eco-friendly adalah Picanto. Picanto kalau dikatakan standar LCGC 1:20, Picanto kalau dites secara bagus, bukan perjalanan biasa, bagus. Waktu itu tes pabrik bisa di atas 30, tergantung standar pengetesan seperti apa,” ujar Direktur Pemasaran PT KIA Mobil Indonesia Hartanto Sukmono kepada detikOto.

Hartanto pun menuturkan, KIA pun memiliki line up Picanto di bawah 1.000 cc di pasaran global.. Mau dibawa ke Indonesia kalau ada kebijakan LCGC?

“Kalau (aturan) LCGC-nya sudah jelas, enggak tertutup kemungkinan, karena kita gak mungkin bikin produk baru, karena produk kita itu produk global,” ujarnya.

Saat ini KIA Picanto yang dipasarkan ke Indonesia mengusung mesin 1.248 cc. Yang dijual mulai Rp 131,5 juta sapai Rp 145,5 juta.

Picanto, Rekor Penjualan Tertinggi Line-Up KIA di IIMS 2012


Jakarta, IOTOMOTIF.com – Pada gelaran Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2012 yang baru saja selesai diselenggarakan, KIA Indonesia berhasil mencetak rekor penjualan tertinggi.

“Rekor penjualan kami di IIMS pecah pada Sabtu, (22/9/2012). Hari itu kami berhasil mencapai penjualan hingga 52 unit mobil. Kemudian Sabtu (29/9/2012) kami berhasil mencapai penjualan yang cukup tinggi juga yaitu 47 unit,” ucap PR PT KIA Mobil Indonesia Siti Rahayu, Minggu (30/9/2012).

Hal ini dikarenakan KIA banyak mengeluarkan produk-produk baru pada saat IIMS 2012, selain itu, produk-produk KIA memiliki desain yang elegan khas Eropa.

Penjualan tertinggi Kia Mobil Indonesia dipegang oleh KIA All New Picanto yang berhasil terjual dengan total 148 unit, kemudian posisi kedua dipegang KIA All-New Rio yang mencapai 109 unit penjualan. Posisi berikutnya berturut-turut dipegang oleh KIA Sportage Platinum, KIA Sportage dan KIA All-New Rio Sedan. Untuk total penjualan Kia Indonesia selama IIMS 2012 mencapai hingga 325 unit mobil.

IIMS 2012: Kia Sorento dan Rio Sedan Jadi Bintang

JAKARTA, 22 September 2012 — PT Kia Mobil Indonesia (KMI) berhasil menarik perhatian pengunjung Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2012, dengan menampilkan Kia Sorento dan Rio Sedan. Meski baru dijual akhir tahun ini namun kedua model itu menjadi bintang booth Kia.

Inilah kali pertama Kia menampilkan SUV dengan kapasitas 7 penumpang tersebut. Rencananya, Kia Sorento akan hadir dengan dua tipe mesin yaitu diesel 2,2 liter DOHC-CR-TCI bertenaga 197 PS dan torsi 44,5 kgm dan mesin bensin Theta II 2.4 L MPI berdaya 176 PS dan torsi 23,1 kgm. Keduanya sama-sama menggunakan transmisi otomatis 6-percepatan Shiftronic.

“Mobil ini merupakan kelas mid-size crossover SUV generasi kedua yang merupakan redesain dari Sorento generasi pertama, yang sukses di pasar Eropa,” kata Direktur Marketing KIA Motor Indonesia, Hartono Sukmono.

SUV ini sudah dilengkapi dengan fitur keamanan standar, seperti ABS, ESC, airbag, serta piringan rem cakram pada keempat rodanya. Selain itu, Sorento dilengkapi dengan audio sistem yang cukup mewah di kelasnya.

Sebelumnya, Kia sudah memiliki satu varian SUV yaitu Kia Sportage. Bedanya, Sportage adalah SUV dengan kapasitas 5 penumpang. Hadirnya Soreto kian melengkapi line-up pabrikan asal Korea itu.

Model kedua adalah Kia Rio Sedan. Mobil ini menggunakan mesin Gamma W.4 L DOHC CVVT bertenaga 107 PS dan torsi 13,8 kgm yang ditunjang dengan sistem transmisi otomatis 4-percepatan.

Herjanto, Direktur Pemasaran KMI mengatakan untuk harga belum ditentukan. Namun diperkirakan Sorento bisa dijual di bawah Rp 400 juta dan Rio Sedan tak sampai Rp 200 juta per unit.
